Tea mosquito bug: Helopeltis theivora
Symptoms of damage:
- Nymphs and adults severely attack the plant by feeding on the tender foliage.
- Necrotic lesions develop around the feeding puncture leaving shot holes on the lamina.
Identification of the pest:
- Adult – Black colour with Red thorax, black and white abdomen and greenish brown wings.
Management
- Spray phosalone 2ml / lit of water in the evening hours for better control.
