Banana is the second most important fruit crop in India. It has also good export potential.For the good production and high yielding, it should be protected from various insect pests.The insect pests mostly observed are root stock/rhizome weevil, stem borer, banana aphid and Fruit rust thrips.
Selection of healthy planting material and suitable intercultural operations apart from the application of 0.04% endosulfan, 0.1 % carbaryl or 0.05 % monocrotophos depending upon the type of pest infestation have been found to be effective in controlling the pests.
